Training combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. All courses are offered as Blended Learning, which includes Online Learning (COVID safe) and Skills Check Session (Hands on – Cal-OSHA and many insurance companies require these skills sessions for certification).
First Aid
Standard First Aid with CPR/AED–Adult – Comprehensive training course
This course provides first aid adult CPR/AED training and explains the role of AEDs in emergency cardiac care. This training builds skills you will need to respond to and treat a variety of injuries and sudden illnesses.
First Aid – Stand alone course
Participants learn first aid skills for treating a variety of injuries and sudden illnesses.
CPR/AED–Adult – Stand alone course
Participants learn adult CPR and AED skills to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies.
CPR/AED–Pediatric – Stand alone or included in Standard First Aid above
Ideal for teachers and daycare workers, this course prepares participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children under the age of 12. Child AED training may also be added.
Lifeguarding
Participants learn:
- Rescue skills for use in water and land
- First Aid and Professional rescuer CPR/AED
- Professional lifeguard lifeguard responsibilities
- Surveillance skills to help you recognize, prevent, and respond to injuries
Participants must be 15 or older, and are required to complete a pre-course session. This course is conducted as a blended learning course (online) with in pool skill sessions.
Wilderness First Aid
Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away.
Participants must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification.
Babysitters Training
Become an American Red Cross certified Babysitter! This course prepares young babysitters (11 or older) to become the most capable, trusted, and in demand sitters in the neighborhood. Participants learn how to start their babysitting business on the right foot and learn how to be a safe, professional and reliable sitter.

- Basic first aid and Pediatric CPR/AED
- Choosing age appropriate activities
- Basic child care like bottle feeding
- Child behavior
- Leadership, professionalism, safety
- Starting a babysitting business, and more.
A babysitter JDI Training briefcase is provided to participants.
